Are we there yet?!

A slight delay in this next installment of this thrilling epic, yes a side quest or three. It’s been warm, far too warm for any sensible sitting still at a kitchen table to paint things. Oh and spending time outdoors. And the last one, a bike sized right for my son, best thing is the bright red helmet! Instant envy that my head is too big.

Assembly of the Space Marines in the Starter Set is now complete. Naively I thought my son would continue painting the previous box of Infernus Marines, but that is apparently not fun while he gets to watch me build this set. Oh and ask if it’s done yet, and why is it not done yet. This is clearly the Warhammer equivalent of “Are we there yet?!”

Another minor bump in the road is time… work time, family time and of course hobby time. A meeting overruns with a client and suddenly it’s too late when you get home. So the question do you build together for an hour plus some, after bed time? Or be bad dad and send the poor kid to bed? I know the little one is throwing a riot as he wants to go to bed, but dad does bed time. At the end a few slightly later nights with my elder while my younger complains to mom. But falls asleep fairly quickly luckily anyway.

Either way, after a quick spray of Ultramarine Blue the Space Marines are lined up for their photo op, and wait for dad to sit still long enough for Ork construction while they get painted.

Now the question dear reader, will he paint or will he want the Orks built first so we can paint them all together?
