Full side quest

A tree-lined greenway path, packed dirt and leaf litter underfoot, branches arching overhead and the trail narrowing into the distance.

We have gone full side quest this past month, last few weeks of the school summer holidays. I can tell you that no matter which way you look at it, 6 weeks is a mighty long time.

Outside time has been the name of the quest. We now finally all have bikes, and we have managed to get a 2nd hand bike trailer for the youngest to sit in while we ride. Upside is it works as a push chair as well, even if rather large. As it is second hand it’s missing a single piece, the optional piece that converts from Full Axle to Quick Release. Yes a tiny bushing/spacer that changes down to the 5mm for the trailer connector. The hunt continues.

My bike took near on 3 weeks to finally arrive, some delay of some sort somewhere apparently. I mean there was one on the shop floor, but I had to have a red one and not a dark grey one. So as a result half of summer before I could go for a ride with my eldest. In fact this weekend was the 1st long ride we could do. A fair greenway stint, but in hindsight slightly too far for a youngster. But he did really well.

As the rain finally returns and looking to sounding out a routine now school is back in session we can potentially work out some sensible timing to build and paint those models.
